Rome, Italy (2007)
Museoplan designed the complete architectural renovation of this celebrated, 40-year old gallery of contemporary art on the ground floor of an 18th century building in the historic center, near the Ara Pacis. The project included three gallery rooms with new lighting and mechanical systems, offices and a new art storage facility with a director’s sales room. Museoplan also designed the furniture for the renovation. The inaugural exhibition included works of Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Motherwell, Sam Francis and Fernando Botero, as well as Mel Bochner, Ed Ruscha, Shrin Neshat and Shoja Azari.
